Aspen Process Explorer is a powerful process-centric environment for facilitating the organization, display, and analysis of essential process information. It delivers real-time and historical process data to the desktop enabling managers, engineers, and operators to make faster, better informed decisions to optimize manufacturing performance. Aspen Process Explorer is a core element of AspenTech’s aspenONE® Production Management and Execution applications.
Features
- Process data can originate from Aspen InfoPlus.21® or other relational databases
- Uses the industry-standard Microsoft® Windows environment; the same techniques used in other Windows programs can be used in Aspen Process Explorer
- A ribbon is provided for easy navigation, enabling users to quickly discover and access advanced functions
- Displays and controls can be incorporated into pages on an intranet with Aspen IP.21 Process Browser, which enables enterprise-wide access with an ordinary web browser
- Displays and controls can be created and customized using the VBA toolkit
- Frequently used functions are grouped by task providing efficient access and simplified usability
Comprehensive graphics and plotting tools:
- Trending Tool - Plots time-based trends of real-time and historical data from the database; the user may place as many trends as required on a single display, limited only by the graphical resolution of the display device
- Legend Tool - Creates a list of tags that are trended in a Plot; users have access to embedded ad-hoc calculations (complex calculations and statistical calculations are available using Aspen Calc™ and Aspen Real-time Statistical Process Control Analyzer)
- Time Control Tool – A unique and comprehensive tool for fast and simple specification of time frames for both plots and displays
- XY Plot – Plots values of one tag verses values of another tag over the same time span. The XY plot also features ad-hoc embedded calculations for quick what-if analysis
- Tag Browser - Searches the database for the required tags for plots; searches may span multiple Aspen InfoPlus.21 servers and other data sources
- Excel Add-in – Navigation ribbon provides quick access to flexible functions that retrieve data from Aspen InfoPlus.21 in Excel spreadsheet cells for quick what-if analysis
- Process Graphics Builder and Viewer – Provides an environment for creating visualization of process schematics, SPC charts, and real time data, such as temperatures and flows
